Equality
We are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers receiving services from the school, irrespective of race, gender, disability, faith, religion or socio-economic background. We work hard to foster a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and are able to participate fully in school life.
We aim to foster and develop good relationships between all people in the local community. We want our school environment and ethos to be welcoming and inclusive to all people. We strive for a culture of openness and fairness where all people are treated with dignity and respect.
Our Equalities Policy describes the range of things we do within lessons, assemblies and extra-curricular activities to promote tolerance, friendships and to develop an understanding of different cultures and religions. This policy meets the requirements of The Equality Act 2010, which introduced the public sector equality duty and protects people from discrimination.
As a school, we are proud to have been awarded the Silver Excellence Award from Hampshire EMTAS (Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service), which recognises the effectiveness and impact of our provision and support for children and families who have English as an Additional Language.
